My City
This was done on commission, via collaboration witht he client to match his vision for his space.
The client already had this beloved pale painting of an abstract skyline by another artist, which to him represented the city at sunrise in his main living space.
He wanted a larger and more dark and vibrant version of the skyline, to pay homage to New York at night. He wanted this more expressionist style which is somewhat of a break from how I typically paint, so I made sure to have a collaborative back and forth with him as I made the painting, sending samples to make sure what I was doing was on the right track to getting what he envisioned!
This was a great experience for both of us anbd I really hope to get more commissions that allow me to work with a client to create art that not only stands alone as a work, but also hopefully completes their interior design vision for their space! To me that is part of the beauty of being a smaller scale artist who can make work on such a personal level.
